CORVID-19 related lockdowns & restrictions, has created
a novel situation. However Certification-related Audits are still required to
be conducted in-spite of current restrictions. To enable Certification audits
to continue, most Certification Bodies worldwide have or are moving to Remote
Auditing. This means that the Auditing is carried out remotely as the default.
In the past, they were the exceptions.
Note – For certain Standards that have a product compliance emphasis, Remote auditing has not yet been approved.
Note: Remote Auditing requires more preparation
What? – Remote auditing to achieve & maintain Certification to Management Standards. Depending on the Standard, Complexities, Risks and specific Audit requirements (eg initial Certification, Surveillance or Re-certification)

Where? – Web-cam enabled location/s including possibly operational areas
How? – Information and Web-cam considerations
Stable and fast Internet connection and robust equipment and systems
Availability of the required documents and information

Screen sharing especially for viewing Operational and other software
Secure File viewing or transmission
Consider whether other parts of your screen can be seen
Consider the viewing of facilities or product (e.g. labeling, products, machines, processes and storage)?
